Dear friends,

just a short update on the progress of the shipping action and -eventually- news on the bamboo:

BAMBOO DELIVERY  

We have been quiet over all bamboo orders recently, and we are very sorry about any confusion and frustration this may have caused!   

The reason was that our long-awaited bamboo shipment got stuck in customs in Estonia and we had a hard time to get any news what so ever about its whereabouts.

Today we received confirmation that it will be cleared by next monday, which means we can start production again right away, meaning we expect the first batch of boards within 12 days from Monday (7 days production, 4 days transportation, 1 day buffer) in our warehouse.

Please be assured: This is also for us a very frustrating process, since we have everything ready set to go, just waiting to put the gear back into production and to get stuff done, but we simply can´t because our wood is stuck on a ship 30 km from our carpenters workshop and there is nothing we can do about it but to wait.

SHIPPING

We are 80% done with all other orders: It is all still very new and exciting (and slightly slower than expected), but all in all we are definitely on the right track, especially regarding the future.

We will be working down the remaining orders as fast as we can, we promise!

US ORDERS

We know we said this before, but just to make sure everyone is on the same page: Since we are shipping all US orders in one 40ft container, we have to wait until ALL orders are ready (except for the BBQ-Pad, which will go out separately) So once all bamboo boards are ready, we get the container moving as fast as possible.

BBQ-PAD 

Due to a minor mistake in our fulfillment centre the BBQ-Pad is listed as "included" on your delivery note.  

As announced in one of our recent updates, the BBQ-Pad will actually be send out separatly as soon as it is available, so please don´t get confused here!

So, enough business for now - just one last thing: 

Sometimes it is hard for us to keep the faith and our good mood when things happen that are beyond our control or even if we make stupid mistakes (just as for those of you who are waiting much longer than they should for their order due to this, and we seriously feel so sorry about that!), but the very, very positive feedback from all of you who already received their order is so encouraging and soothing for us, it really gives us the energy to push through the last meters of the project.

hier ein kurzes Update zum Status der Versandaktion und -ENDLICH- Neuigkeiten zum Thema Bambus:

BAMBUS LIEFERUNG

Wir haben uns in letzter Zeit mit klaren Aussagen zum Thema Bambus sehr bedeckt gehalten, was teilweise zu Recht für Unmut gesorgt hat.

Der Grund hierfür: Unsere lang-ersehnte Bambus-Lieferung ist ärgerlicherweise in Estland vom Zoll aufgehalten worden und wir hatten bis heute keinerlei Info über den Status der Lieferung. 

Heute haben wir die Bestätigung erhalten, dass der Container voraussichtlich bis nächsten Montag freigegeben wird: Die Produktion kann dann endlich weitergehen und wir erwarten in 12 Tagen ab Montag (7 Tage Produktion, 4 Tage Transport, 1 Tag Puffer) die erste Ladung Bretter bei uns im Logistik-Zentrum.

(Das alles ist eine Schätzung unter Vorbehalt: Falls den estnischen Zollbehören noch andere Gründe einfallen, warum unser Bambus nicht ins Land darf, dann gibt es nichts, was wir daran ändern können, was natürlich den Zeitplan verändern wird)

Wir möchten gerne allen Beteiligten versichern, dass die Situation auch für uns hochgradig frustrierend ist, da wir die ganze Zeit im Leerlauf darauf warten, dass die Produktion weitergeht, und es passiert einfach nichts, weil unser Holz nur ca. 30 km von unserer Schreinerei auf dem Schiff festgehalten wird.

VERSAND

Wir sind mittlerweile zu 80% mit allen anderen Bestellungen fertig: Es ist alles noch sehr aufregend und neu (und deswegen leider etwas langsamer als erwartet), aber insgesamt sind wir auf einem goldrichtigen Weg, gerade auch für die Zukunft.

Wir arbeiten die verbleibenden Bestellungen so schnell wie möglich ab, versprochen!

BBQ-Pad

Es gab leider einen kleinen Fehler bei der Erstellung der Lieferscheine, wodurch die BBQ-Pads als "geliefert" angegeben wurden.

Bitte lasst euch dadurch nicht irritieren: Sobald die Artikel lieferbar sind, gibt es für alle eine kostenfreie Nachlieferung!

Dear friends,

it has been a looong while since our last update, time is flying!

A very remarkable amount of things have happened ever since (for example: we fired our fulfillment partner and moved our entire warehouse and all the new BASIC products to a new fulfillment partner within 10 days...more details about this mind blowing madness later, but lets just say for now: What a nightmare! :)

So here is a short update on the shipping progress:

SHIPPING STATUS

We already dispatched the first 1200 orders, and within the next few days, the majority of orders should leave our warehouse as well.

We are slightly behind schedule due to the relocation to the new logistic partner because we had to  set up all processes from scratch, but now we got everything up and running, and we can fulfill orders at a much better pace.

.

We would love to talk a bit more in detail about everything that is happening behind the scenes, but we are still super super busy: As soon as things are a bit more relaxed, you guys get an extensive report!

es ist wieder eine ganze Weile her seit dem letzten Update, wie die Zeit vergeht! 

Eine sehr beachtliche Menge ist seitdem geschehen (wir haben unter anderem unseren Logistik-Partner gefeuert & innerhalb von 10 Tagen unseren gesamten regulären Warenbestand sowie die neuen Waren für die gesamte Kickstarter-Aktion zu einem neuen Partner umgezogen...die Details zum Wahnsinn der vergangenen Wochen später irgendwann), hier nun erst mal ein schnelles Update zum Stand der Versand-Aktion:

VERSANDSTATUS

Wir haben die ersten 1200 Bestellungen abgearbeitet und versendet, in den nächsten Tagen sollte der Großteil der restlichen Bestellungen ebenfalls unser Warenlager verlassen! 

Wir sind insgesamt durch den Umzug etwas im Zeitplan hinterher, weil wir alle Prozesse neu aufbauen mussten, aber jetzt sind wir soweit und können richtig Gas geben: Der Versand an sich geht jetzt deutlich schneller vonstatten als geplant.

Wir würden uns gerne etwas mehr Zeit nehmen, aber noch ist zu viel zu tun: Sobald wir wieder richtig Oberwasser haben, gibt es einen ausführlichen Bericht!

you might have noticed yourself through the cosmic BRETT connection we have since you supported us:  The tension is starting to build up over here with the first huge deliveries arriving, a lot is about to happen within the next days! So here is a round-up on the timetable of the next weeks:

CALENDAR WEEK 18 (1st – 7th of May):  

-BOARDS ARRIVE IN OUR WAREHOUSE!  Steel brackets & silicone rings arrive as well 

- FINISH OF THE BOARDS – Steel brackets are fittted in, silicone rings are inserted, boards go into plastic bags, waiting for shipping 

- ALL OTHER COMPONENTS ARRIVE AS WELL (container | wood oil | packaging) 

- SHIPPING TEST RUNS: Our shipping team will do some testruns to streamline the packaging process on Friday 

CALENDAR WEEK 19 -21 (8th – 28th of May) 

-SHIPPING STARTS!!!!! AGAIN: FINALLY!!!! 

We are not shipping chronological: We will group the orders by the number of components involved, starting with the easiest sets (just a basic without any add-ons) and work our way up to the more complex arrangements (some of you guys seriously ordered the hell out of backerkit! :) 

Getting all orders shipped will take maximum 20 days, and we ship with DHL. 

Once your parcel leaves our warehouse, you will receive a notification with your tracking number. 

DELIVERY TIMES 

Germany: 1-2 day 

Europe: 2-5 days 

Rest of the world: 5 – 14 days (Depending on DHL…you know these guys) 

US: All orders to the US are being shipped in a 40 foot container, which means the container leaves when all orders to the US are ready to be shipped. It will take 2 weeks for the container to arrive in the US, and once it is through customs, FEDEX will take care of your packages and you should receive them within 1-3 days. 

(Sorry that you guys in the US will receive your orders last, but you got some phenomenal shipping fees in return, so we think it is still a good deal.)

PRODUCT UPDATES

TABLETSTAND 

The tooling is almost done, we expect first mass production samples next week. Here are some pictures from the tools, close to finish.

BBQ-PAD 

We got some bad news for you guys: The BBQ-Pads will not be shipped together with the boards. 

The mold flow test has been postponed several times due to Easter holidays and other reasons (yes, quite annoying) and we are not even close to a conclusion, so we decided to ship the pads separately. 

(NOTE TO OURSELVES FOR THE NEXT CAMPAIGN: Don´t launch complex stuff unless it is fully developed and ready for production.) 

Sorry for the delay here (and even more sorry for the extra shipping costs for us around the world) but we feel it would not be fair to let you guys wait that long, as it might take a serious amount of time until this thing is finally ready for shipping, and with the BBQ-season coming up you deserve to have the board as soon as possible.

Of course we will keep you updated on any progress with this project.

-DIENSTAG: BRETTER KOMMEN AN (WOOOOOOOW!!!!!) 

- FINISH BRETTER: Stahlbügel werden eingepasst, Silikonringe eingesetzt, Bretter in PE-Beutel verpackt, fertig zum Versand.

- ALLE ANDEREN KOMPONENTEN WERDEN GELIEFERT (Behälter | Holzöl | Verpackungen)

- PROBELAUF VERSAND: Unser Logistik-Team macht Ende der Woche ein paar Probeläufe um die Prozesse zu optimieren, damit in der nächsten Woche alles reibungslos läuft.

Wir versenden nicht chronologisch, sondern sortiert nach Menge der Komponenten: "Kleine" Bestellungen (z.B. nur ein Basic ohne zusätzliches Zubehör) zuerst, und dann arbeiten wir uns hoch zu den "großen" Bestellungen, die aus fast 100 Einzelteilen bestehen (manche von euch haben wirklich das Maximum raus geholt :) 

Es sollte rechnerisch maximal 20 Tage dauern, alle Bestellungen zu verschicken. Wir versenden mit DHL, und sobald eure Bestellungen unser Lager verlässt, bekommt Ihr  eine Benachrichtigung mit Trackingnummer.

LIEFERZEITEN:

Deutschland: 1-2 Tage

Europe: 2-5 Tage

Weltweit: 5-14 Tage (DHL...hat mal gute Tage, hat mal schlechte Tage)

USA: Wir versenden alle Bestellungen per Seefracht in einem Container, was bedeutet dass der Container erst auf See geht, wenn alle Bestellungen vollzählig sind. Es dauert ca. 2 Wochen bis der Container in den USA ankommt, und sobald er durch den Zoll ist, übernimmt FEDEX die letzte Wegstrecke.

TABLET STAND

Der Werkzeugbau ist in den letzten Zügen, wir erwarten erste Serienmuster nächste Woche. Hier sind ein paar Bilder von den fast fertigen Spritzguss-Formen...wir stehen ja voll auf so komplexe Teile:

BBQ-PAD  

Schlechte Nachrichten: Wir haben uns entschieden, das BBQ-Pad nicht zusammen mit den Brettern auszuliefern.

Der Mold-Flow-Test wurde durch Osterferien und anderen Gründen mehrfach nach hinten verschoben (ja, ärgerlich), und wir sind immer noch keinen wirklichen Schritt weiter, also haben wir uns entschlossen, das Pad separat zu versenden, sobald es fertig ist.

(NOTIZ AN UNS SELBST FÜR DIE NÄCHSTE KAMPAGNE: Nur Produkte anbieten, die fertig entwickelt sind. Spart eine Menge graue Haare.)

Wir finden es sehr schade (natürlich auch wegen den zusätzlichen weltweiten Versandkosten die für uns anfallen), aber die andere Option wäre gewesen, mit dem Versand der Bretter zu warten bis die Dinger fertig sind, und mit der nahenden Grill-Saison solltet Ihr doch wenigsten die Bretter schon mal in den Händen halten.

Wir halten euch natürlich auf dem Laufenden über die Fortschritte.

Manche werden es schon gemerkt haben: Wir haben bei Backerkit die Bestellungen finalisiert sowie die Kreditkarten belastet, es sind nun keine Änderungen bei Adresse und Lieferumfang möglich (oder zumindest nur mit riesen Aufwand für uns :)

UPDATE 2/2: TABLET MOUNT | BBQ PAD

THIS IS PART TWO OF TWO UPDATES, PLEASE READ THE FIRST ONE AS WELL!

TABLETT-MOUNT  

The delayed delivery of the boards allowed us to invest some more time into the product development of the cook book stand before we start the tooling, and we made some further changes to the design:  

And probably the most exciting change: We always felt that solid black plastic somehow feels unsuitable for a device like a tablet holder, which is designed merely to hold something and usually only exists in the background, and solid black plastic kind of overemphasizes the product itself as an object. 

 So we came up with the idea to make it in a slightly translucent material, and quite frankly: We are huge fans. It looks much more easy going, while adding some nice details to the otherwise rather boring surface through the translucency of the material.

BBQ-PAD | BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD 

 As with the tablet stand, we used the additional time generated through the delayed board delivery to go deeper into the product development of the BBQ pad as well, and we think this was a crucial decision to take. 

 As mentioned before, this product is much more complex than anticipated, and we literally went back to the drawing board and started all over again with a new approach, but lets start from the beginning: 

 THE INITIAL IDEA 

 The central idea behind the design were those inclined surfaces, which would allow occurring food juices only to move towards the front of the pad and into the attached container, see picture below. 

 The steepness of the inclined surfaces was quite shallow, ranging from 8mm around the edges to 3mm at the dripping edge, but with an additional 3mm rim around the surface, there was literally no other way the juices could go but to the front. 

So as soon as there is plenty of liquid, it had no other choice than eventually dripping off the edge into the container. 

But until this point, the liquid - due to the shallow incline of the surfaces - would pretty much only sit on the pad, and it would need to be shifted off the board by hand or by folding up the pad towards the middle, see prototyping video #1:

To be clear: This design would still be better than any other other solution out there on the market, as it solves the liquid problem quite elegantly without the usual limitations of the juice rim, but:

DOES THIS INITIAL DESIGN REALLY LIVE UP TO THE FULL POTENTIAL OF THE IDEA? 

 We always had the feeling that it would be much cooler if the incline of the surface was steep enough so liquids would run off immediately as they occur. We did some more prototypes with different inclines, see what happened: 

 PROTOTYPE #2 

(Please note: This prototype is covered with a silicon based mould release agent, liquids wont run off THAT enthusiastic on the final product. It looks really nice though :)

The steeper the surfaces become, the more impressive it looks just like the fluids run immediately towards the edge, and to us it became immediately clear: This is the kind of feeling we want for this product and we went right into it, soon facing a whole new set of problems: 

The steeper the incline is, the higher the whole pad becomes, which results in insanely large material thickness, making it super complicated (probably impossible) and thus super expensive to manufacture, as the material alone would be around 2kg. 

 So we did some smart engineering, and after some nerve wrecking days we came up with the following solution: 

 BBQ MADNESS 2.0 | THE NEXT LEVEL t

To deal with the material thickness, we applied a continuous comb structure to the bottom of the pad, reducing the material needed by roughly 50%. 

 What do you think of the slightly translucent material, again? We quite like it, as it shows the comb structure underneath, but since it is quite far away from the original design, we feel like you guys have a say in this as much as we do. -

NOW THIS LOOKS PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD AND LOGICAL, but this is still something extremely complex and difficult to manufacture: Pieces that massive and huge are very rare in the plastic business and a project of this scale has not been done so far with this particular material.

That´s why we are very proud to announce that BASF (yes, the global cooperation and producer of this material) offered to support us! 

 We will be running a mold flow simulation (a computer based simulation of how a material will flow into the mold, to evaluate the feasibility of the project) together hopefully next week, and of course we are super excited about that since this is usually very expensive (and it eliminates the risk of burning 20k€ tooling costs for nothing :). 

If everything works out the way we hope it does, we are on track and we expect to have all parts in our warehouse by the end of April. 

With our engineering partners (who usually work for AUDI and many other huge brands in the automotive industry) and BASF on our side we feel quite confident that this could well work, but it can still happen that the mold flow simulation has negative results: In this case we will need to make another round of iteration, and maybe we even have to go back to the original design, which could result in a small delay, that´s why we want to ask you guys first: 

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE NEW DESIGN? Is it worth to go down this road? Or should we rather stick to the original design, not risking any further delays?

Our opinion: We always aim to make the best product possible, and with these improvements we feel like we are a huge step towards this ideal solution, and -to us- it just looks SUPER AWESOME!

TABLETT-HALTER

Die verspätete Lieferung der Schneidebretter haben wir zum Anlass genommen, um noch etwas Zeit in die Produktentwicklung zu investieren, und wir haben noch letzte kleine Änderungen am Design vorgenommen, bevor wir nächste Woche den Werkzeugbau starten. 

 Und wahrscheinlich die bedeutendste Veränderung: Wir hatten immer das Gefühl, dass solider schwarzer Kunststoff irgendwie unangemessen für einen Gegenstand wie einen Tabletthalter ist, der ja eigentlich nur im Hintergrund Sachen hält, und schwarzer Kunststoff gibt dem Gegenstand ästhetisch mehr Gewicht, als er benötigt. Also hatten wir die Idee, leicht transluzenten Kunststoff zu verwenden, und ganz offen: Wir sind ziemlich überzeugt. 

 Aber was denkt Ihr? Funktioniert das so oder sind wir auf dem Holzweg? Eure Meinung ist tatsächlich sehr gefragt, bitte in die Kommentaren posten. 

 . 

 BBQ-PAD | UND NOCH MAL VON VORNE 

Genau wie beim Tabletthalter haben wir auch beim BBQ-Pad die Gelegenheit genutzt und sind noch einmal in die Produktentwicklung eingestiegen, was zu fundamentalen Veränderungen geführt hat:

Wie in einem früheren Update erwähnt, ist das Projekt weit komplexer als angenommen, und haben tatsächlich noch mal alles über den Haufen geworfen, aber von Anfang an:

DIE URSPRÜNGLICHE IDEE 

Die zentrale Idee hinter dem Pad sind die beiden geneigten Flächen, die auftretenden Flüssigkeiten nur den Weg nach vorne an die Ablaufkante ermöglichen, wo sie in den angehängten Behälter abtropfen, siehe Bild: 

Die Neigung der Flächen war recht flach, von 8mm am Rand auf 3mm an der Abtropfkante. Aber mit einem zusätzlichen umlaufenden 3mm Rand gab es schlicht und ergreifend keine Möglichkeit, dass die Flüssigkeiten irgendwo anders hin als nach vorne gelangen können: Sobald genug Flüssigkeit vorhanden ist, sucht sie sich automatisch den Weg nach. 

 Aber bis dahin bleibt die Flüssigkeit - aufgrund der geringen Oberflächenneigung - mehr oder weniger einfach auf dem Brett und muss entweder von Hand abgeschoben werden oder, indem man das Pad auffaltet und so den Abfluss manuell in die Wege leitet. Hier Prototyp #1: 

Natürlich ist das immer noch deutlich besser als alle andere Lösungen, die auf dem Markt sind, weil es die unselige Saftrillen-Thematik (sobald man wirklich eine Saftrille benötigt, ist sie meisten sofort überlastet) sehr elegant umgeht. Aber ... 

 ...GEHT DAS NICHT NOCH VIEL BESSER? 

 Nachdem wir mit einigen anderen Prototypen experimentiert haben, war ziemlich schnell klar, dass es viel funktionaler wäre, wenn die Flächen so steil sind, dass auftretende Säfte direkt und ohne Verzögerung ablaufen würden: 

PROTOTYPE #2

 (Bitte beachten: Dieser Prototyp ist voll mit einem silikonbasierten Entformungsmittel, deswegen läuft die Flüssigkeit so enthusiastisch ab. Beim späteren Serienprodukt wird es nicht mehr so unterhaltsam aussehen, aber immer noch gut funktionieren) 

Je steiler die Flächen werden, um so beeindruckender sieht es aus, wenn die Säfte sofort zur Mitte hin ablaufen, und uns war sofort klar: Das ist genau so, wie sich das Produkt anfühlen soll, also haben wir uns mit vollem Eifer in die Entwicklung gestürzt, und natürlich hat man es auf einmal mit ganz neuen Problemen zu tun: 

Je steiler die Flächen, um so höher wird das gesamte Pad, was in wahnsinnig hohen Wandstärken resultiert, was es wiederum in der Herstellung unfassbar kompliziert und damit auch teuer macht: Das Teil würde massiv gefertigt rund 2 kg wiegen. 

Also haben wir eine Woche lang sehr intensiv rumgetüftelt und sind zu folgender Lösung gekommen: 

 BBQ MADNESS 2.0 | THE NEXT LEVEL . 

Was denkt Ihr auch hier über das leicht durchscheinende Material? (Wir finden es ziemlich cool, weil man die Wabenstruktur leicht durchscheinen sieht, aber es ist so weit vom ersten Design entfernt, dass wir das Gefühl haben, dass Ihr ebenso ein Mitspracherecht habt wie wir.)

ALSO, das mag jetzt recht plausibel und logisch erscheinen, aber real ist dieses Teil immer noch äußerst komplex zu fertigen: So große und massive Teile sind ganz selten in der Kunststoff-Industrie und ein Projekt in dieser Größe wurde tatsächlich noch nie mit diesem speziellen Material umgesetzt. 

Deswegen freut es uns umso mehr, ankündigen zu können, dass die BASF (ja, der global agierende Konzern und Hersteller des TPU) uns Unterstützung bei der Umsetzung des Projekts angeboten hat - zu Forschungszwecken. 

Wir wollen nächste Woche eine Mold-Flow-Simulation durchführen, in der per Computer simuliert wird, wie sich das Material in der Form verhält und ob es überhaupt spritzbar ist, bevor man die Werkzeuge bauen lässt. Natürlich ist das ziemlich cool für uns, denn normal kostet so eine Simulation ein Heidengeld und es erspart uns das Risiko, Werkzeuge für 20k € bauen zu lassen, die dann am Ende eventuell nicht funktionieren. 

Wenn alles so funktioniert wie wir uns das vorstellen, sind wir auch hier noch gut im Zeitplan und erwarten die Teile Ende April/Anfang Mai im Warenlager. 

 Mit unserem Partner für den Werkzeugbau (die normal für Kunden wie AUDI oder andere Kaliber aus der Automobilbranche arbeiten) und BASF an unserer Seit ist das Projekt optimal betreut, allerdings kann die Simulation auch negativ mit unüberwindbaren Hindernissen ausfallen, was bedeuten würde, dass wir noch mal einen Schritt weiter oder sogar zurück machen müssen, was zu Verzögerungen bei der Auslieferung führen könnte. 

Deswegen wollten wir Euch zu erst fragen: WAS DENKT IHR? Ist das der richtige Weg und ist er es wert, eventuelle Verzögerungen in Kauf zu nehmen? Oder sollen wir lieber beim ursprünglichen Konzept bleiben und kein Risiko eingehen?

Dear friends,

almost a month since our last update, and as you can imagine, a lot happened ever since, so here is an extensive update on everything that is going on in the BRETT universe. To keep it short and crisp, we decided to split the topics into 2 parts, each focusing on different aspects, so make sure you read the following updates as well.

CUTTING BOARDS | VISIT TO ESTONIA

In case you ever wondered: Our BASIC boards are made in a small carpentry in Estonia, 120 km south of the capital Tallinn. 

The production of the boards started 2 weeks ago, the first 1000 boards are almost done and we went there for final quality controls, and we have to say: These guys seriously impressed us in the first place with the quality of their samples (way above all the other samples we received while we did the sourcing for this project), and they even managed to add a very noticeable shovel on top of that in terms of precision and quality. These boards are just super super nice and we can´t wait to get them out to you.

Overall the production of the boards is right on track, delivery to our warehouse scheduled for mid/end of April.

In case you ever planned to go to beautiful Estonia on vacation around this time of the year: Be prepared for FREEZING temperatures and even colder wind. (Of course we were not properly prepared and Joseph came back with a cold and a sore throat.) Apart from that, Estonia surely is beautiful with very nice people, wide open space and good food!

We wanted to share one more thing with you, slightly off topic:

We always felt like - despite all our videos, pictures and texts - we still not even come close to how it really feels like to work with a FRANKFURTER BRETT.

We always wanted to capture this particular vibrant and lively atmosphere since we figured if you guys could see what we see every day, it would save us so many words as it speaks so much for itself.

Sometimes the most obvious things are hardest to see, and in order to show you guys what we see, it just made sense to show you guys exactly what we see: From a "point of view" perspective, in our office kitchen with our regular kitchen equipment, 100% GROSSARTIG.

es ist schon fast wieder ein Monat seit unserem letzten Update vergangen, und wie Ihr euch sicher vorstellen könnt, ist seitdem eine ganze Menge geschehen. Hier also ein ausführliches Update aus dem BRETT-Universum. 

Um das Update überschaubar zu halten, haben wir die Themen auf 2 Einzelupdates verteilt, das zweite Update kommt gleich im Anschluss.

SCHNEIDEBRETTER | WERKSTATTBESUCH IN ESTLAND

Für alle, die es interessiert: Unsere BASIC- Bretter werden in einer kleine Schreinerei in Estland gefertigt, 120 km südlich der Hauptstadt Tallinn.

Die Produktion ist dort vor rund 2 Wochen angelaufen, die ersten 1000 Bretter sind fast fertig, und wir wollten gerne vor Ort sein, um letzte Qualitätskontrollen abzusprechen und um den Stand der Produktion zu überprüfen, und wir müssen sagen: Die Leute dort haben uns nicht nur mit Ihren ersten Produktmustern tief beeindruckt (qualitativ schon damals weit allen anderen Anbietern voraus, von denen wir Angebote eingeholt haben), sondern jetzt in der Serienproduktion haben sie sogar noch einmal deutlich bei Qualität und Präzision zugelegt. 

Die Bretter werden einfach richtig richtig toll, und wir freuen uns jetzt schon drauf sie zu verschicken.

Grundsätzlich ist die Produktion der Bretter auf Kurs, Anlieferung in unser Warenlager spätestens Ende April.

Falls jemand von euch jemals zu dieser Jahreszeit nach Estland gehen wollte: Seid auf EISIGE Temperaturen mit noch kälterem Wind vorbereitet. (Wir waren vollkommen unvorbereitet, Joseph ist natürlich sofort mit Erkältung nach Hause gekommen). Davon aber abgesehen ist Estland wirklich toll und einen Besuch wert.

Und wir wollen noch etwas ganz Besonderes mit euch teilen: 

Wir hatten trotz all der Videos, Bilder und Texte auf unserer Homepage nie das Gefühl, als als könnten wir auch nur ansatzweise abbilden, wie es sich wirklich anfühlt mit einem Frankfurter Brett zu arbeiten.

Wenn Ihr sehen könntet, was wir jeden Tag sehen, könnten wir uns jede Menge Worte sparen, weil es für sich selbst spricht.

Und manchmal sieht man die offensichtlichen Sachen erst ganz zum Schluss: Um euch zu zeigen, was wir jeden Tag sehen, macht es nur Sinn euch zu zeigen, was wir jeden Tag sehen. Im wörtlichen Sinne.
